Janitor – Camp Okema (Emma Lake, SK)
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming camp environment while supporting the mission and vision of Camp Okema. This role oversees the daily cleaning and upkeep of camp facilities, including washrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces.
Lodging and meals are provided.
Key Responsibilities- Support the mission and vision of Camp Okema.
- Maintain general cleanliness and maintenance of camp facilities.
- Sanitize high‑touch surfaces several times daily.
- Wash windows, floors, remove spider webs, mow lawns, rake beach, empty garbage and recycling bins.
- Check daily logs of refrigerator and freezer temperatures and water quality.
- Assist the maintenance coordinator with facility repairs.
- Daily sanitize and check the cleanliness of washrooms and other shared spaces.
- Complete end‑of‑camp inspection in coordination with camp leaders and rental staff.
- Maintain a filled woodpile.
- Perform regular monthly checks of smoke alarms.
- Maintain daily/monthly logs.
- Assist in emergency situations.
- Assist in camp set‑up and weekly/season's end clean‑up.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Assist in receiving and storing food and other supplies.
- Submit a criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector search.
- Provide a valid driver’s license.
- Detail‑oriented, adaptable, and enjoys working as part of a team to solve problems and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
