About You/What We Are Looking For

This position will be responsible for technical and administrative work involving the coordination of the Facilities Asset Management Program by tracking site work and inspections of all City building components and support plant structures. This role is ideal for a systems thinker with a continuous improvement mindset who can leverage technology and information to improve asset management practices. The incumbent will maintain interrelated asset information across departmental systems, including the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), facilities digital twin, and capital planning software;

this includes photos, drawings, plans, manuals and metadata related to City building components and supporting plant structures in order to support data-driven decision- making.

Key responsibilities include maintaining asset information, advanced utilization of Excel, data analysis, data migration, and asset scanning, inspection, and tagging of building components. In this role, the incumbent will also prepare, analyze and present summaries of findings for the assigned projects, generate reports, reviewing drawings and specifications for proposed alterations, repair and regular inspections for maintenance work.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge in facility lifecycle planning, building maintenance methods, materials, and equipment; construction and costing methods, processes, and materials applicable to building or plant equipment maintenance and renovations; as well as asset management principles, facilities maintenance management, repair or replacement methods, and associated costs and timing.

The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other computerized systems related to facility installations including mechanical, electrical, life safety, energy management and security systems as well as with MS Office programs and AutoCAD.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate working knowledge of the bylaws, codes and regulations related to buildings and plant equipment as well as the various trades involved in building inspections, repairs, renovations, and general maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

Diplomain Building Systems Technologyorarelatedfieldplussoundexperienceinassetmanagementof  facilities or project management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Driver’slicensefortheprovinceof

British

Columbia.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience identifying and implementing opportunities to improve business processes through workflow automation, reporting, and information management. Ability to interpret and work with technical documentation, including as-built drawings, specifications, and equipment manuals. A strong understanding of data quality, information relationships, and the importance of structured asset information in supporting decision-making. Experience learning and adapting to new business systems and technology solutions to improve operational processes.

Knowledge of quantity surveying, construction cost estimating, capital project cost development, or lifecycle costing related to building assets
