Road Construction Team Member – Roller Operator
Amrize Construction is seeking a skilled and dedicated Roller Operator to join our Road Construction Team in the Greater Vancouver Area. In this role, you will operate the roller machine behind the paving machine to achieve proper density and finish texture, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on road construction sites.
What You’ll Accomplish- Must be familiar with municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential rolling practices.
- Operate roller machine to compress asphalt to maintain a smooth surface.
- Establish rolling patterns to achieve compaction.
- Perform and assist with other job positions such as plate tamping and hand tamping.
- Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
- Maintain equipment daily, including fluids and water systems.
- Provide day‑to‑day roller services and continually improve maintenance processes and services.
- Commit to communication, improvement, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a culture of safety.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required
Work Experience:
3–5 years’ experience in road construction or related field.
- Manual dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, good physical fitness, a good sense of balance, and an ability to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary.
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE); respirator wear requires being clean‑shaven at seal points.
- Pay Rate: $32.00 CAD Hourly.
