Registered Nurse - RN RPN at Retirement Concepts
Base pay range: CA $41.42/hr - CA $59.52/hr (HEABC wage levelling)

About The Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) reports to the Director of Care and/or their designate and serves as a role model and team leader. The RN coordinates and supervises direct resident care activities to achieve high quality, resident‑centred care respecting dignity.
- Engage in collaborative team play, developing professional relationships that support the organizational culture.
- Assess residents’ needs; implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Support LPNs in reviewing and updating care plans, offering clinical decision‑making support and assessments.
- Administer medications and treatments per standards and policies.
- Lead community wound management, assist LPNs, facilitate specialist referrals and submit weekly wound reports.
- Provide direct resident care and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure quality care.
- Liaise with physicians, community agencies, families, visitors and volunteers.
- Support the move‑in process, follow community policies, and attend care conferences when DOC is absent.
- Uphold residents’ rights, adhere to holistic wellness philosophy.
- Act as First Aid attendant and ensure proper documentation for injured staff.
- Maintain a safe environment through accident prevention, emergency procedures, safe use of supplies, and infection control.
- Coordinate and supervise care staff, assign duties, and provide clinical direction.
- Fulfill clinical on‑call duties as required.
- Perform community audits and submit data to DOC or designate.
- Participate in orientation and training sessions for new employees.
- Provide educational materials and demonstrate techniques to staff.
- Contribute to staff evaluations and mentor HCA staff.
- Attend meetings, committees and educational in‑services.
- Maintain records in line with policies and ensure confidentiality.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Graduate of an approved Nursing program with a current BCCNM RN license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is an asset.
- Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 and CPR certificates.
- Successful RAI competency testing.
- Previous long‑term care experience is an asset.
- Pass vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
- Proficient speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- Basic computer skills:
Word, Excel, Outlook. - Physical capability to push, pull, stoop, crouch, lift, and carry up to 25 lb, including cleaning tasks.
