Licensed Practical Nurse; LPN

Big Hearts Home Healthcare is looking for Licensed Practical Nurses to start work immediately.

We are looking for a team member that will do assessments and progress reports. We service seniors, injured workers, accident victims, discharged patients and others.

Under the direction of the Operations Director, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct care to clients to fulfil the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs of clients and in accordance with our policies, procedures and work routines.

• Plan and manage resident care according to their needs
• Interview patients and record their medical history and physical condition.
• Obtain patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
• Provide routine care for patients
• Observe patients’ health
• Review medical charts.
• Accompany patients to their rooms.
• Assist physicians and registered nurses.
• Communicate with patients and their families.
• Perform standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler.
• Prepare specimens for lab courier.
• Administer medications.
• Provide wound care.
• Prepare and administer injections and/or enemas.
• Assist with patient comfort.
• Monitor catheters.

• Ability to read and write English fluently
• Licensed Practical Nurse degree and active license
• 1–2 years experience in a hospital, clinic or facility
• Knowledge of infection control practices and occupational hazards
• Observational skills, stamina and physical endurance
• Regular lifting and moving clients, equipment and supplies
• Recent and clear Criminal Record Check
• Organizational skills and ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
• Proof of required immunizations:
  Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hep B, TB, etc.

Pay:
From $40.00 per hour

• Are you willing to do in‑home visits for nursing assessment? If yes, you will be trained for nursing assessment under Work Safe program.
