Auxiliary Custodial Guard

Become part of Coquitlam's dynamic Police Services as an Auxiliary Custodial Guard (Cells) on-call. This essential role involves maintaining security and welfare for prisoners while ensuring a safe environment.

Coquitlam RCMP is seeking a dedicated Auxiliary Custodial Guard for on-call 12-hour shifts. Your responsibilities include monitoring prisoners' conditions, booking inmates, and engaging in light maintenance and janitorial tasks within the jail cell area. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential for interacting with prisoners and staff in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain surveillance over prisoners via CCTV

• Book prisoners and manage their personal effects

• Prepare and serve meals to inmates

• Record keeping and documentation of incidents

• Perform light janitorial tasks as needed

Requirements:

• Completed Grade 12 with related training

• Valid first aid and CPR certification

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written

• Ability to maintain accurate records

• Obtain Enhanced RCMP Security Clearance
