Part‑Time Lecturer Pool – Department of Modern Languages and Literatures
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures in the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Miami, is soliciting applications for part‑time teaching positions during the academic year. For each semester, the department expects a maximum of two courses per applicant.
Responsibilities- Teach language courses in Arabic, French, German, Haitian Creole (Kreyol), Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, or Spanish.
- Provide a minimum of three hours per week of office hours per course to meet with students.
- Prepare and deliver course materials, assessments, and evaluations in accordance with university standards.
- Participate in department meetings and professional development activities as required.
- Master’s degree in the target language or a related field.
- At least one year of college‑level teaching experience.
- Preference for candidates holding a Ph.D. degree.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
