Job OverviewEntry‑Level Roadway Design Engineer based in Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale, FL. Support highway design teams in South Florida by collaborating with interdisciplinary disciplines to complete a variety of projects.
Responsibilities- Assist in planning, design, and implementation of transportation projects for a variety of clients.
- Prepare roadway design plans, sketches, diagrams, and schematic drawings under supervision.
- Conduct engineering analyses and prepare reports and technical specifications under supervision.
- Collaborate within project teams to meet objectives within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collect and analyze data, perform field work, and undertake site inspections under supervision.
- Attend site visits and meetings at clients’ offices.
- Maintain project records, prepare progress reports, and communicate updates to team members and supervisors as needed.
- Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior‑level member.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Transportation‑related experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrate growth potential and a desire to learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, ORD, Civil 3D, or other engineering software packages.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Detail‑oriented while understanding the big picture and project goals.
- Accurate documentation of time and effort.
- Interest in transportation infrastructure design.
- Relocation assistance not available.
- No sponsorship for US employment authorization.
- Hybrid work schedule; required in‑office presence in Coral Gables, FL on a scheduled basis.
Compensation: $55,029.50 – $75,665.57 per year, based on education, experience, and location.
