Position Summary
Functions as a first or second assistant in operative procedures under the direct supervision of a staff surgeon in the Operating Room. Performs preoperative history and physical on surgical patients including proper documentation in the medical record as requested. Responsible for on call coverage as assigned. Assists all members of the surgical team in providing continuity of patient care according to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications/RequirementsEducation
Medical degree required.
Must apply for Florida License House Physician unlicensed Medical Doctor within a month of employment.
Required licensures/certifications
Current BLS
Current ACLS
Skills and Abilities
Good oral and written communication skills in the English language.
Experience
Knowledge of surgical and sterile techniques, instruments. Minimum of one (1) year Surgical Assistant hospital setting experience.
