Overview
Position involves greeting customers, handling inquiries, processing payments, and delivering food and beverages in a hospitality setting. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean checkout area, handling orders, and assisting customers with information and resolutions.
Responsibilities- Greets incoming customers, answers phone calls, and responds to customer questions and requests.
- Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
- Issue refunds, voids, or credits to customers with manager approval.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure amounts are correct and there is adequate change.
- Calculate total payments received during a time period and reconcile with total sales.
- Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, blended coffee, and tea, and customize orders as requested.
- Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area.
- Complete general cleaning duties (tables, chairs, floors); remove dirty dishes, set tables, replenish clean linens, silverware, glassware, condiments and bread; empty trash cans.
- Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.
- Restock and roll silverware and assist with stocking stations.
- Answer questions related to drinks, menu, bakery, and catering.
- Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take initiative to correct any problems.
- Take food and beverage orders and deliver them to the kitchen.
- Deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers.
- Ensure that food is prepared correctly and to customers’ satisfaction; return incorrect or improperly cooked orders to the kitchen.
- Collect plates and clear the table as customers finish their meals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Well-organized with the ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.
- Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices.
- Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.
- Previous experience as a server preferred.
- Must successfully complete restaurants training course.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
