Objective

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Radiochemist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of radiolabeling, purification, and characterization methods for various compounds for use in preclinical and clinical studies. This role will involve close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including biologists, pharmacologists, and clinicians, to support the development of our radiopharmaceutical products.

Essential Functions
  • Design, synthesize, and optimize radiolabeling methods for compounds (e.g., PET, SPECT, alpha‑emitting isotopes) for preclinical and clinical studies.
  • Perform and develop analytical methods to ensure radio chemical purity, stability, and quality of radio labeled compounds; contribute to critical quality attributes of products.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of radiolabeling processes, including scale‑up for clinical production.
  • Ensure all radio chemical activities comply with GMP, GLP, safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare technical reports, and support regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Pharmacology, and Clinical Development to integrate radiochemistry into drug development.
  • Uphold strict safety standards for handling radioactive materials; maintain radiation safety procedures and protocols.
  • Stay abreast of advances in radiochemistry and radiopharmaceutical development to drive innovation.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education / Experience
  • Ph.D. in Radiochemistry, Chemistry, or related field (Master’s with significant experience also considered).
  • 3+ years of experience in radiochemistry, preferably in pharmaceutical or clinical research.
  • Proficiency in synthesis and handling of radioactive isotopes (e.g., Pb‑203, Pb‑212, Ga‑68, Cu‑64, Cu‑67, F‑18).
  • Strong background in analytical techniques such as HPLC, TLC, GC, NMR, and mass spectrometry.
  • Experience with automated radiochemistry synthesis modules is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for clinical trials (e.g., 21

    CFR Part 211, 21

    CFR Part 212).

Work Environment
  • Willingness to work in a facility producing radioactive materials and participate in safety programs.
  • Ability to work outside regular hours, including off‑shift, weekend and holiday work as needed.
  • Capacity to sit or stand for 8+ hours a day during duties.
  • Acceptance of occasional kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling or reaching.
  • Good hand‑eye coordination; close attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards (radioactive, corrosive, flammable, toxic, dust, dirt, odors, irritants).
  • Willingness to wear PPE (eye, hearing protection, etc.) as needed.
  • Willingness to complete safety training within allotted time frames; works well in a team‑based environment.
