OverviewJoin our dynamic team at Collins Aerospace as a Test Technician, where precision meets innovation in the aerospace industry. In this crucial role, you will ensure the reliability and performance of our cutting‑edge aerospace technologies by performing fault isolation, verification of repairs, and data trend analysis with engineers.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of electrical/mechanical tests on prototype and production circuit boards/units/systems to determine performance to specifications and identify malfunctions or failures.
- Conduct all types of tests and troubleshooting required to meet specifications, including:
- Environmental Stress Screening
- Automated Test Equipment throughput
- Manual Test Equipment throughput
- Maintain all electrical/mechanical equipment used in the production process.
- Use testing instruments such as DMM, oscilloscope, frequency generators, high‑frequency power supplies, spectrum analyzer, etc.
- Perform general maintenance duties (excluding electrical) throughout the facility to keep production processes operational.
- Collaborate with engineers to correct design and test methods to improve product and/or process performance.
- May perform RF tuning, tack solder test selects, lift axial leads, remove simple solder shorts, clip leads, touch up post coat, and reassemble and seal the unit (when no repair actions are taken by the technician).
- Maintain records, complete necessary paperwork, and keep the work area clean.
- Collect, document, and report test results.
- Evaluate test results, read complex electronic schematics, analyze circuits, and follow written work instructions.
- Apply comprehensive electronic theory knowledge, basic troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Work independently or as part of a team; may be required to stand for long periods; must meet visual requirements; capable of lifting or handling parts up to 25 lb.
- Must be willing and able to work the 3rd shift and be a 100 % onsite role.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- High school diploma or GED required; if lacking, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Must pass the Certified Electronics Technician Associate (CETa) exam (ETA‑I).
- Ability to read complex electronic schematics, analyze circuits, and follow written instructions.
