Technician; Facilities & Equipment Services; Mid Level

Overview

Onsite role at 1710 Commercial Park, Coralville, IA 52241. Weeknight shift, 4x10 hours, 6pm–5am. Top 3 skills: mechanical aptitude, hand/power tool proficiency, attention to detail. The Technician I (Equipment Service) repairs and maintains custom synthesis platforms, custom automated laboratory equipment, and commercially available laboratory equipment as a member of the Equipment Services team.

• Support the reliability and sustainability of custom automated laboratory equipment in a high throughput environment.
• Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance services and address unplanned maintenance on equipment.
• Apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fluidics, optical devices/systems, and controls systems.

• Associate degree or two years of work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to exert 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25-50 lbs. of force frequently.
• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

• Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills—including the ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Automation equipment testing or troubleshooting experience, including Beckhoff Twin Cat/Ether Cat and Unitronic or similar control systems.
