Family Support Workers are compassionate peer advocates who draw upon their own lived experience of raising, or having raised, a child with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. Because of this personal understanding, they are uniquely equipped to build trust and connect with families navigating similar circumstances. In this role, Family Support Workers use their insight and firsthand knowledge of community resources, systems, and supports to empower families through education, advocacy, and emotional guidance.
They collaborate closely with caregivers to strengthen family relationships, increase confidence in navigating services, and promote resilience within the household. Through one-on-one support, group activities, and community engagement, Family Support Workers help families develop the skills, stability, and connections needed to create safe, nurturing, and lasting home environments.
