Position: Certified Medical Assistant - Coram - Full Time

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant to support our Coram location in Long Island, NY
.

A Medical Assistant supports patients and the clinical team at designated health centers by assisting with medical care under the guidance of nursing and medical staff, adhering to the Center's policies and objectives. This role involves performing duties in compliance with organizational standards and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete the rooming process, take vital signs, vision, and hearing tests, and record patient data in eClinical

Works (eCW), including laboratory results, pain levels, PEAS, PHQ, smoking status, etc. Document the reason for the visit.

Perform in-house laboratory tests, collect specimens for external labs (e.g., Pap smears, cultures), and perform quality control following organizational protocols.

Maintain clinical area stock and cleanliness, ensure supplies are current, and dispose of outdated materials.

Clean and sterilize all equipment, logging each service performed.

Perform basic clerical tasks such as answering phones professionally, communicating issues to nurses, and handling inquiries.

Maintain all relevant logs accurately.

Minimum

Education and Experience:

Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate.
Preferred Education: Associate's degree with Medical Assistant Training Certificate.
Experience: 0-1 year of related work experience.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Pay: $20.50 - $22.00 per hour
