** Summary
* * Rad TECH - Radiological Technologist  PRN, FTE .25, 10 hrs. I First Shift  BHCOR-Radiology Diagnostic I Corbin, KY    Radiological Technologist Provides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.

Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.

* ** Registered Nurse****:
*** Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams following established protocols and physician orders.
* Verify patient identity, exam orders, and medical history prior to procedures.
* Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout imaging, maintaining proper positioning and communication.
* Apply
** radiation protection standards (ALARA)
** for patients, self, and staff during all procedures.
* Produce and review diagnostic images for Radiologist interpretation; verify accurate image archiving in
** PACS**.
* Administer contrast materials and perform peripheral venipuncture when indicated, documenting all details in the electronic health record (EHR).
* Monitor patients during exams and report any changes in condition or adverse reactions immediately.
* Perform daily equipment checks, quality control (QC), and report malfunctions or safety issues promptly.
* Maintain proper inventory of supplies and linens, ensuring readiness and efficiency within the department.
* Collaborate with Radiologists, Nursing, and other departments to coordinate patient flow and exam scheduling.
* Support accreditation and compliance initiatives (e.g.,
** ACR Accreditation**, safety drills, and infection control).
* Participate in staff training, student instruction, and onboarding of new team members.
* Maintain professionalism through appearance, conduct, and adherence to all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
** Requirements*
* ** Registered Nurse****:
*** Current Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) License
* Current License with the American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Registry
* Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association within 6 months
