** Summary
* * CT TECH  PRN, FTE .25, 10 hrs. I First Shift  BHCOR-CT Scan I Corbin, KY    Provides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs CT procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.

Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.

* ** Registered Nurse****:
*** Perform high-quality
** CT imaging procedures
** for accurate interpretation by the Radiologist.
* Verify patient identification, orders, and medical history to ensure proper exam preparation.
* Administer contrast materials safely and document procedures, reactions, and medications accurately.
* Monitor patients throughout exams, ensuring safety, comfort, and adherence to
** radiation protection standards (ALARA)**.
* Perform daily equipment
** warm-up, quality control (QC)
** checks, and report malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
* Accurately
** archive and verify images
** in PACS; notify administrators of any imaging or transmission issues.
* Collaborate with Radiologists and the CT Coordinator to maintain imaging protocols and support
** ACR accreditation
** requirements.
* Assist in developing and adjusting exam protocols for adult and pediatric patients in accordance with regulatory and safety guidelines.
* Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and linens, ensuring readiness of the CT suite.
* Provide guidance and training to new staff and imaging students during clinical rotations.
* Adhere to all hospital
** policies, safety procedures, and infection control standards**.
* Participate in required
** training programs, emergency preparedness, and quality improvement initiatives**.
** Requirements*
* ** Registered Nurse****:
*** Associate degree
* Current American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Registry in Radiography RT(R)
* Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
* One or two years in Special Imaging Preferred
* Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association within 90 days
* Must obtain Advanced ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) within 1 year
