Under direction, works in assigned communities to identify and engage targeted populations of the grant (assists individuals recovering from a substance use disorder) and encourages participation in the Recovery Reintegration Program.
Requirements- Driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Own car for transportation.
- Travel 80% of time to program service area, with travel reimbursement.
- The ability to work independently and solve problems creatively.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Appropriate and professional telephone communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all persons requesting assistance.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Demonstrate initiative and strive to continually improve processes and relationships.
- Excellent time‑management skills, ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities to meet deadlines.
- Depth of understanding of eligibility criteria and policies for federal and local public benefit programs.
- Remain non‑judgmental, empathetic, and respectful of individuals in recovery.
- Works in grant coverage area and surrounding counties to identify target population (under‑employed and unemployed).
- Establishes credibility with target population using trust‑building communication techniques.
- Assesses and refers target population to social/vocational/educational services agencies and area employers.
- Screen, refer, and enroll individuals into recovery and the WRP program.
- Recruit employers to serve as transformational employment sites.
- Recruit educational providers as partners.
- Understand employer needs and the business performed to identify suitable employee attributes.
- Assess clients for compatible employment opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Maintain Volunteers of America’s positive public image when interacting with agencies, businesses, and community partners.
- Familiar with other VOA programs and services.
- Model agency core values of integrity, compassion, diversity, commitment, and justice to all contacts.
- Understand barriers faced by rural clients and develop best practices to serve them.
- Refer clients who do not qualify for WRP program to other mainstream services or training in service area.
- Participate in outreach activities.
- Maintain bi‑weekly meetings with clients and employers to ensure needs are met.
- Execute rapid job searches to assist clients in attaining employment.
- Demonstrate ability to relate to individuals and families in culturally appropriate manner.
- Document case management activities in required time frame and format.
- Participate in staff, supervision, case consultation, and training meetings.
- Identify systemic barriers and communicate with leadership to collaborate on solutions.
- Assume additional duties assigned by WRP Program Manager and VOA Work Director.
- Perform PQI duties assigned by supervision & PQI committee.
