This is a chance to learn both sides of the role with full training from an experienced commercial team.

You will join a well-established roofing contractor in Corby that has been trading for more than 45 years, works on commercial and industrial projects across the UK, and already has a full order book just two months into its financial year. The business is growing, the team is friendly and down to earth, and there is a clear route into a Roofing Estimator or Surveyor position.

The Role Trainee Roofing Estimator / Surveyor Based between the Corby office and project sites, you will be trained in estimating and surveying rather than being limited to one area. The work covers refurbishment and flat roofing schemes valued from £50,000 to £3 million . You will learn how to price tenders, take measurements, check progress on site and support commercial reporting.

National travel to project sites is part of the role. What You Will Be Doing Help with quantity take-offs, measurements and site surveys Prepare tender documents, pricing schedules and cost plans with support from the team Request and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations Assist with scope summaries, tender clarifications and value engineering Visit sites to check progress, verify quantities and record variations Support roofing and refurbishment tenders across education, healthcare, commercial, industrial and public sector projects Issue procurement enquiries and keep commercial trackers, drawings and schedules up to date What You Will Receive Salary negotiable depending on experience 10% discretionary bonus Commercial vehicle and fuel card 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Full training in estimating, surveying, tendering, pricing, measurements and commercial reporting A clear route into a Roofing Estimator or Surveyor position Casual dress and a relaxed, down-to-earth office Regular team social events Who This Suits Keen to learn, reliable and interested in building a career in construction Comfortable with numbers and confident using basic Excel Some estimating, surveying or practical construction experience would be useful, but it is not essential A construction qualification such as a BTEC, HNC, HND, T Level or apprenticeship would also be welcomed Comfortable travelling nationally and visiting sites regularly Able to show a steady work or study history Hours & Location Based in Corby , with national travel to project sites Monday to Thursday, 8.30am5.00pm Friday, 8.30am4.00pm One-hour lunch break
