Job Title: SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant

Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire

Hours: Full Time

Roles: Short Term, Long Term, Temp-to-Permanent

You will work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them to engage with learning and develop both academically and emotionally. Your work may involve 1:1 support or small group work, tailoring strategies to support pupils with challenges in managing their emotions and behaviours.

• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and school staff
• Support pupils’ learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

• Previous experience supporting individuals with SEMH (ideally children/young people; experience with adults also acceptable)
• A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH (desirable but not essential)
