Job Title: SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Hours: Full Time
Roles: Short Term, Long Term, Temp-to-Permanent
The RoleYou will work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them to engage with learning and develop both academically and emotionally. Your work may involve 1:1 support or small group work, tailoring strategies to support pupils with challenges in managing their emotions and behaviours.
Key Responsibilities- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and school staff
- Support pupils’ learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Previous experience supporting individuals with SEMH (ideally children/young people; experience with adults also acceptable)
- A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH (desirable but not essential)
