Manufacturing / NPI Engineer
Location:
UK, Northamptonshire, Corby (full-time, permanent)
At our Corby site, we make ceramic cores used by aerospace and turbine manufacturers. We’re growing and looking for a Manufacturing / NPI Engineer to own new product introductions.
Responsibilities- Manage NPI projects from start to finish using our project systems.
- Create new parts in our MRP system, build trial information, and document customer‑agreed standards.
- Work with engineering tolerances to conduct CMM analysis and improvement reports.
- Manage engineering changes, internal and external requests.
- Run gauge R&R checks and support FAIR submissions.
- Coordinate with production to ensure trials are delivered to plan.
- Produce clear updates, reports, and executive summaries for stakeholders.
- Use ERP systems (IFS/CRM/D365) for costings, routings, and product data.
- Monitor yields, efficiencies, and troubleshoot on new products and legacy cores; drive improvements.
- Use root‑cause analysis to fix problems first time.
- High level of understanding and experience in an engineering discipline such as mechanical, manufacturing, project, or injection tooling.
- Hands‑on experience in a technical/engineering department.
- Background in new product introduction or product development.
- Strong communication skills – able to explain complex things clearly to colleagues and customers.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab).
- Detail‑oriented, mechanically minded, and resilient.
- Confidence to chair meetings and represent the business with customers.
- Lean Six Sigma experience.
- Understanding of injection moulding.
- E2E project management experience.
- Experience handling tricky customer situations with professionalism.
- 37.5 hours a week:
Mon–Thu 8:00–16:30, Fri 8:00–13:30. - The chance to lead meaningful projects in a fast‑growing manufacturing environment.
