Job PurposeTo supervise and coordinate manufacturing and packaging production operations, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved. This role is hands‑on and people‑focused, responsible for driving performance on the shop floor, maintaining smooth production flow, and resolving issues quickly to minimise downtime and disruption.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily manufacturing and packaging production activities, ensuring output targets and schedules are met.
- Lead, motivate, and manage production operatives to maintain high performance, discipline, and engagement.
- Allocate labour effectively across production lines and shifts to maximise efficiency.
- Monitor and maintain product quality, ensuring packaging specifications, production standards, and customer requirements are adhered to.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, hygiene, and manufacturing procedures at all times.
- Conduct line start‑ups, changeovers, quality checks, and shift handovers.
- Identify production issues affecting output, quality, or efficiency and take corrective action promptly.
- Support training, onboarding, and development of production staff.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports and documentation.
- Work closely with maintenance, quality and planning teams to reduce downtime and improve performance.
- Escalate operational issues when required, while taking ownership of resolving day‑to‑day challenges on the floor.
- Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing or packaging production environment.
- Strong people management and leadership capability.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, KPIs, output targets and efficiency measures.
- Sound knowledge of health & safety regulations within a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Competent IT skills for reporting, tracking and documentation.
- Flexibility to work early or late shifts.
