Control Panel Builder x 2 - Temporary with potential to become permanent - Immediate Start Available
Corby - Northamptonshire UK
£28,500 - £32,500 per annum
Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:30 Friday 07:30 - 13:30
We're looking for a skilled and detail driven Control Panel Builders to join our clients engineering team. Our client are a company with over 20 year's experience producing premium, durable products that help customers work smarter, safer, and more efficiently.
The Role- Build and wire electrical control panels to industry standards (e.g., IEC/BS EN).
- Build control panels consisting of anywhere between 5 and 50 cables.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Assemble components including PLCs, relays, contractors, drives, and terminal blocks.
- Carry out panel testing, fault‑finding, and quality checks before dispatch.
- Ensure all work meets safety, compliance, and customer specification requirements.
- Housekeeping of workshop area, ensuring all H&S regulations are always adhered to.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.).
- Proven experience as a Control Panel Builder, Electrical Technician, or similar role.
- Have previously worked within an electrical engineering role (industrial electrics not residential).
- Experience with PLC wiring and automation systems.
- Knowledge of control system commissioning would be advantageous.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Confident with panel wiring, cable routing, and component layout.
- Understanding of electrical safety standards and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing clean, well‑organised panels.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good team player with a positive, proactive attitude to workload and comfortable working to schedules.
- Passion to produce high quality products.
- Reliable and flexible approach to work, with a keen willingness to learn and develop new skills.
