£28,500 - £28,500 per annum + Overtime
Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:30 Friday 07:30 - 13:30
We're looking for a skilled and detail driven Electrical Assembly Technician to join our clients engineering team. Our client are a company with over 20 year's experience producing premium, durable products that help customers work smarter, safer, and more efficiently.
Due to the nature of this position, candidates are required to be resident in the Corby or local area with Right to Work Documentation in place as this is a role with an immediate start.
The Role
A typical day will involve the following
Build and wire electrical control panels and light electrical units to industry standards (e.g., IEC/BS EN).
Build control panels consisting if anywhere between 5 and 50 cables.
Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
Assemble components including PLCs, relays, contractors, drives, and terminal blocks.
Carry out electrical testing, fault‑finding, and quality checks before dispatch.
Ensure all work meets safety, compliance, and customer specification requirements.
Completing all relevant paperwork.
Prepare any documentation such as Inspection Sheets, quality documentation.
Housekeeping of workshop area, ensuring all H&S regulations are always adhered to Experience and Skills
Relevant electrical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.).
Proven experience as a Control Panel Builder, Electrical Technician, or similar role.
Have previously worked within an electrical engineering role (industrial electrics not residential)
Experience with PLC wiring and automation systems.
Knowledge of control system commissioning would be advantageous
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
Confident with panel wiring, cable routing, and component layout.
Understanding of electrical safety standards and best practices.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing clean, well‑organised panels.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Good team player with a positive, proactive attitude to workload and comfortable working to schedules
Passion to produce high quality products.
Reliable and flexible approach to work, with a keen willingness to learn and develop new skills.
