Unpack Operative – Inputs (PM Shift)
Location:
Corby
Ceramic cores might not be something you think about every day, but they play a vital role in the manufacture of advanced aerospace components. At our Corby site, we produce these precision-engineered cores and supply customers around the world.
We're looking for an Unpack Operative to join our PM Shift team. This is a hands-on production role that keeps materials moving through the manufacturing process safely, accurately and efficiently. It's an important job that helps ensure production runs smoothly and quality standards are maintained.
The Role
This is a practical role for someone who doesn't mind rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in. You'll be unpacking incoming materials, handling components, preparing inputs for production and supporting the wider team to keep operations running to plan.
It's worth being upfront: this role can be physically demanding. There'll be lifting, working in a dusty environment, and periods where you'll work independently. If you're happiest behind a desk, this probably isn't the role for you.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do
- Unpack, check and prepare incoming materials for production
- Move materials and components safely around the work area
- Follow established production, quality and safety procedures
- Complete routine checks and accurately record required information
- Support housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and organised workspace
- Use breathing apparatus and other required PPE when carrying out specific tasks
- Work closely with colleagues across production to ensure materials are available when needed
- Identify and report any quality, safety or process concerns
About You / What You'll Bring
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, warehouse or industrial environment would be helpful
- Comfortable carrying out physically demanding work, including regular lifting and manual handling
- Able to work safely in a dusty production environment
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to following processes correctly
- Reliable, dependable and willing to take ownership of your work
- Positive attitude and a strong focus on health and safety
- Willingness to wear breathing apparatus and other required PPE
What You'll Get
- Permanent PM Shift opportunity
- Full training provided
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Opportunity to build a long-term career within manufacturing
- A supportive team environment where safety and quality come first
- The chance to be part of a business producing components used in some of the world's most advanced engineering applications
