About Total Care Matters

At Total Care Matters, we provide therapeutic residential care for children and young people aged 8–18 across our nine homes in the East Midlands. We support young people who have experienced significant adversity, helping them build confidence, resilience, and brighter futures. Our teams create safe, nurturing environments where children feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their potential. As part of our commitment to delivering outstanding care, we are working towards DDP (Dyadic Developmental Practice) accreditation, further embedding trauma‑informed and therapeutic approaches across our homes.

The Role

We're looking for caring, resilient, and motivated individuals to join our team as Residential Support Workers. You'll play a vital role in supporting young people to overcome challenges, develop life skills, achieve their goals, and build positive memories. Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll help create a stable and supportive home environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build positive relationships with young people.
  • Provide day‑to‑day care, guidance, and emotional support.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
  • Support education, hobbies, and personal development.
  • Encourage independence and teach life skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Work alongside colleagues and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Act as a positive role model.

What We're Looking For
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Passion for supporting children and young people.
  • Positive attitude, resilience, and strong communication skills.
  • Experience working with children and/or a Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.

Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and safer recruitment checks.
