• Under the general direction of the CEO and with close consultation of the Statewide Chief Psychiatrist, the Chief Psychiatrist develops, oversees, and directs the quality and operations of Physician Services within psychiatry for the psychiatric treatment of individuals housed at Avenal State Prison.

Effective July 1, 2023, employees who provide direct patient care on grounds or at a facility for more than 50% of the pay period shall receive a pay differential equivalent to 15% of their monthly base pay.
