Senior Psychologist, CF (Specialist);
Avenal State Prison (ASP) – Avenal, CA.
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (CF) (Specialist) performs as the clinical systems expert and provides psychological consultation relating to the institution’s health care performance management programs and processes. The Senior Psychologist, CF (Specialist) serves as an advisor to institution executives and acts as a liaison with the Statewide Quality Officer and Quality Management Section staff, statewide executives in various disciplines, other institution Chief Quality Officers (CQO), and other stakeholder groups as appropriate.

A Training and Development (T&D) assignment will not be considered at this time.
Salary information and additional program details include:
- Recruitment and Retention Bonus may be available for clinicians newly hired with California Correctional Health Care Services.
- IMPORTANT: CDCR and CCHCS employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus if selected for hire and remain employed for 90 days; a questionnaire with the referring employee’s details is provided during pre-employment.
- Possible eligibility for a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend and a monthly recruitment and retention differential during the first year with CCHCS (potential total of $20,000), subject to eligibility.
Note:
The Person al Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented effective July 1, 2025, which may affect base salary and leave credits for applicable employees.
