Registered Nurse, CF-Avenal State Prison (ASP) – California Correctional Health Care Services.
Position details:
This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent. Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented for many bargaining unit and related employees, which may affect base salary and leave accruals as described in the job posting.
Under the supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse II/III, Correctional Facility (CF), the Registered Nurse (RN), CF organizes and provides nursing care in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program requirements in correctional health care settings. The RN, CF collaborates with the health care team to ensure delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients and coordinates interdisciplinary communication to promote continuity of care.
The RN, CF is responsible for addressing ongoing health care needs of patients and promoting the timely, efficient, and appropriate use of health care resources.
- Possession of a current license as Registered Nurse in California. (Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be admitted to the examination, but must secure the required license before they will be considered eligible for appointment.)
