Position Summary

Under the direction of the Administrator, Nursing Home, the Bookkeeper is an active member of the Nursing Home team delivering long‑term care consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of the Nursing Home and CRHS. The Bookkeeper prepares and inputs budget journal entries into the electronic financial control system, updates third‑party payment logs, and compiles performance statistics for the cost accounting system and third‑party cost reports.

The Bookkeeper prepares and compiles year‑end work papers, provides clerical assistance during the annual budget preparation, and delivers data for review by external auditors.

Basic Qualifications
  • Education:

    Requires a high school diploma or GED state certification.
  • Experience:

    Requires up to three months of work‑related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Licensure, Registrations &

    Certifications:

    None required.
Essential

Job Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies and exceptions within the long‑term care and hospice accounts.
  • Ensure all daily transactions are properly recorded, balanced with source documents, and update the third‑party payment system.
  • Prepare monthly standard journal entries for allowances of third‑party payers.
  • Prepare and input budget journal entries using the electronic financial control system.
  • Compile performance statistics for the cost accounting system and the third‑party cost reports.
  • Verify that all tabulated statistics are accurate and reflect the nursing home’s performance level.
  • Prepare and compile year‑end work papers and support the year‑end close.
  • Provide clerical support for the monthly financial reporting system and update revenue and payroll files for budget revisions or adjustments.
  • Assist during the annual budget preparation.
  • Prepare data for review by outside auditors and provide assistance as directed.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.
