Position: School Counselor (Contracted Services)

Overview

School Counselor (Contracted Services) role at CRISP COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM.

Location:

Flint Area Learning Program - Crisp & Sumter. Pay commensurate upon experience. 20 to 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, career, and personal/social-emotional issues.
  • Help students develop study skills, time management, and strategies for academic success.
  • Assist students in exploring career options, setting goals, and planning for post-secondary education or training.
  • Help students develop positive relationships, coping strategies, and social skills.
  • Provide support and guidance during crisis situations and collaborate with other professionals as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and other school staff to support student development and well-being.
  • Implement school counseling programs aligned with the ASCA National Model.
  • Analyze student data, IEPs to identify needs, monitor MTSS/RTI progress, and effectiveness of the program.
  • Connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in school counseling or a related field, and GA PSC School Counseling certification.
  • Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to conduct individual and group counseling sessions, assess student needs, and develop appropriate interventions.
  • Understand the developmental needs of students at different grade levels.
  • Familiar with the ASCA National Model and other relevant guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Competency to identify and address student needs, resolve conflicts, and manage crises.
