Overview
School Counselor (Contracted Services) role at CRISP COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM.
Location:
Flint Area Learning Program - Crisp & Sumter. Pay commensurate upon experience. 20 to 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, career, and personal/social-emotional issues.
- Help students develop study skills, time management, and strategies for academic success.
- Assist students in exploring career options, setting goals, and planning for post-secondary education or training.
- Help students develop positive relationships, coping strategies, and social skills.
- Provide support and guidance during crisis situations and collaborate with other professionals as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and other school staff to support student development and well-being.
- Implement school counseling programs aligned with the ASCA National Model.
- Analyze student data, IEPs to identify needs, monitor MTSS/RTI progress, and effectiveness of the program.
- Connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
- Master's degree in school counseling or a related field, and GA PSC School Counseling certification.
- Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to conduct individual and group counseling sessions, assess student needs, and develop appropriate interventions.
- Understand the developmental needs of students at different grade levels.
- Familiar with the ASCA National Model and other relevant guidelines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Competency to identify and address student needs, resolve conflicts, and manage crises.
