Speech Language Pathologist - Full Time at Crisp Regional Health Services
Position SummaryUnder the leadership of the departmental Director and/or Manager, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works as part of the interdisciplinary team to perform evaluations, treatments, and documentation requirements in accordance with professional standards.
Basic Qualifications- Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Experience: Up to one year of work‑related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a hospital and/or skilled nursing facility setting preferred.
- Licensure, Registrations &
Certifications:
Requires a current state license as a Speech‑Language Pathologist;
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP); and a current certification in Basic Life Support.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia; interpret assessment data; plan and perform speech‑language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential.
- Perform initial and discharge evaluations, set goals and treatment plan, and document appropriately.
- Develop treatment plan and perform optimal treatment in a timely manner to meet functional goals.
- Communicate with other healthcare interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans.
- Record daily treatment notes and other required documentation timely and completely.
- Meet production requirements for physical therapy rendered as defined by the organization.
- Comply with the Georgia State Practice Act.
- Assume responsibility for safety, infection control and performance improvement as part of CRHS’s efforts to provide quality care and services. Perform all associated duties, responsibilities, and tasks.
- Present a professional image to CRHS’s co‑workers, clinical and medical staff members, patients, families, and visitors.
- Attend professional development programs and in‑service training and meet the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.
