Machine Maintenance Tech (Biomed Technician) - PRN

Join Crisp Regional Health Services as a Machine Maintenance Tech (Biomed Technician) on a PRN basis. In this role you will support the Dialysis Department by maintaining and repairing hemodialysis machines, performing preventative maintenance on Fresenius 2008 K machines, and facilitating dialyzer reuse. You will work under the leadership of the Director of Dialysis and collaborate with the dialysis team to ensure safe, efficient delivery of dialysis services.

Under the leadership of the Director, Dialysis, the Dialysis Technician is an active member of the department that assists the Director, Dialysis and staff in the delivery of dialysis services and care. The machine Technician maintains and repairs hemodialysis machines. Machine tech is responsible for preventative maintenance of the Fresenius 2008 K machines. Dialyzer reuse is also a function of the machine technician.

Requires a high school diploma or a GED state certification and the successful completion of a Hemodialysis Technician program.

Requires up to one year of work-related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Requires and maintains a Certification in the Fresenius Dialysis System Technical Training.

Requires and maintains a certification in Basic Life Saving (BLS). (If BLS certification is not current upon hire it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)

• Performs normal maintenance on the equipment and runs tests to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Orders parts needed for repair of machines.
• Draws cultures and disinfects machines to comply with unit policies.
• Keeps up to date records of work performed on each machine.
• Maintains dialysis machines in the Acute Unit at Crisp Regional Hospital.
• Performs reuse on dialyzers and keep accurate logs per unit policy.
• Transports dialysis patients to the treatment floor.
• Assists with lifting patients as needed.
• Functions as part of an interdisciplinary team promote positive interpersonal communication skills when communicating with patients, families, visitors, physicians and staff in all departments of the organization.
• Complies with CRHS and department safety, infection control and performance improvement initiatives and sterile procedures ensuring the safe delivery of care and services. Presents a professional image to CRHS nursing and medical staff members. Performs other related job duties as assigned.
