Registered /Oasis Nurse - Full Time - Days

Position Summary

Under the leadership of the Director, Home Health, Oasis Review Nurse is an active member of the department that is responsible for prospective review of all oasis assessments ensuring all services and documentation meet the organization's standards and state and federal guidelines. Monitors for appropriate visit frequency and duration as per care guidelines.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Requires a degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Requires one to two years of work-related experience as a home health nurse, working knowledge of Oasis, ICD 9/10 coding, federal and state licensure requirements, and computer systems.
  • Licensure, Registrations &

    Certifications:

    Requires a current license as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the state’s Department of Professional Credentialing, current certification in BLS, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance, and a Motor Vehicle Report upon hire.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Review Oasis assessments to include Start of Care, Resumption of Care, Recertification, and discharge, ensuring appropriateness, completeness, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Utilize SHP alerts and validation reports in the review of Oasis.
  • Ensure appropriate ICD coding and sequencing as it relates to the patient’s medical record.
  • Consult with appropriate clinicians to clarify data integrity issues and correct documentation.
  • Notify agency leadership of problematic trends noted in Oasis documentation.
  • Assist with other chart reviews and activities as requested.
  • Work with clinical staff to ensure compliance with all state, federal, professional, HIPAA, and JCAHO rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Work with staff to ensure compliance with clinical care, safety, infection control, and performance improvement measures as part of Home Health’s efforts to provide quality care.
  • Respond to on-call requests as needed and participate in the scheduled rotation when required.
  • Present a professional image to CRHS’s nursing coworkers, clinical and medical staff, patients, families, and visitors.
  • Attend professional development programs and in-service training, meeting the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.
