JOB SUMMARY: Performs complex machine maintenance functions. Creates and maintains preventative maintenance programs. Revises maintenance manuals and writes technical reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
- Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
- Be responsible for various feeder repairs and modifications.
- Be responsible for some tool room work.
- Assists in machinery and line moves and equipment set up and installation.
- Assist engineering with process issues.
- Make changes in equipment processes.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Performs other duties when required that are outside of normal job duties.
- May be asked to assist in other duties to ensure production needs are met in a timely manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and have a strong electrical or mechanical background.
- A working knowledge of automated manufacturing, experience with SMT or Auto Insertion equipment.
- Ability to read in English and accurately interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to employees and supervisors.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Must have Universal RAD/VCD and Fuji SMT experience.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Ability to operate a computer and use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Ability to qualify for and obtain a fork lift operators license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in contract manufacturing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and team lift up 70 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
