We’re looking for a Director of Tax & Client Advisory—a senior tax leader who loves strategy, mentoring, and client relationships just as much as clean, accurate tax work.

This is not a heads-down, grind-it-out role. This is a leadership seat.

In this role, you will be the trusted tax advisor clients rely on for clarity and confidence. You’ll help shape how tax services are delivered as we continue to grow, mentor and elevate a talented team, and have real influence over processes, decisions, and direction. Tax Strategy & Advisory

Review and oversee individual and business tax returns. Lead proactive tax planning, projections, and year‑end strategy. Identify tax‑saving opportunities and explain them clearly to clients. Ensure compliance while always thinking strategically.

Lead tax planning conversations with confidence and warmth. Translate complex tax concepts into plain English. Build long‑term, trust‑based client relationships. Be the calm, steady expert clients turn to.

Review work prepared by staff and provide constructive, supportive feedback. Mentor accountants and help them grow professionally. Contribute to training, documentation, and scalable systems. Lead with empathy, clarity, and accountability.

Firm Impact

Partner with bookkeeping and accounting teams. Help refine workflows and improve efficiency. Support the continued growth of our tax department. Play a key role in shaping the future of Profit Matters.

Qualifications

Are a CPA with 7+ years of tax experience. Enjoy tax planning and advisory, not just compliance. Love mentoring and helping people grow. Communicate clearly, confidently, and kindly with clients. Are organized, proactive, and solutions‑oriented. Want meaningful work without sacrificing your life outside work. Are excited by culture, collaboration, and long‑term impact. Are open to traveling to our Dallas‑area office during tax season (travel paid).

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 base. Quarterly bonus opportunities. Unlimited PTO. Paid holidays, including the week of Christmas. Hybrid and flexible schedule.
