Energy United EMC is seeking a Region Line Engineer to support the planning, design, and reliability of our electrical distribution system in the Lake Norman Region. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient electric service for our members while working closely with operations, engineering, and safety teams.

• Assist the Region Line Manager with planning, scheduling, and execution of regional objectives
• Provide engineering support for distribution design, system reliability, and power quality issues
• Coordinate and oversee internal and external crews to meet service delivery goals
• Plan six‑week and daily workloads and ensure timely work order completion
• Support safety programs, audits, training, and incident investigations
• Analyze reliability data and assist with system improvement initiatives
• Coordinate power quality investigations, feeder patrols, and equipment upgrades
• Support large or complex member needs related to system design and reliability
• Prepare switching procedures and assist during emergency and after‑hours situations
• Utilize tools such as AMI and distribution automation systems to support operations

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
• One year or less of experience in electric distribution planning (preferred)
• Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and power system operations
• Familiarity with NESC and RUS standards preferred
• EIT or FE certification preferred
• Strong computer and technical skills
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a good driving record

• Standard hours:
  Monday‑Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Subject to emergency call‑out, adverse weather conditions, and on‑call rotation
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather and travel to job sites regularly
• Employee must live or be willing to relocate within a 25 mile radius of the Cornelius office
