Position OverviewThe Development Associate position requires a dedicated and socially conscious individual with excellent data research skills, marketing experience, and attention to detail. While maintaining the Cain Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values, this role will assist Cain Center's Development team in creating and implementing strategies that ensure sustainability and organizational growth.
Duties for the Development Associate will include preparing progress reports, tracking contributions, preparing and managing mailing lists, assisting with event planning, assisting with grant research as it relates to development operations, ensuring timely acknowledgment of contributions, and tracking revenue.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess excellent networking abilities, good people skills, exceptional communication skills, and time management skills. The noteworthy development assistant should enhance the efficiency of administrative functions, sustain organizational growth, maintain positive relations with donors, and help ensure the integrity of development processes. This position reports directly to the Senior Development Associate.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:- Analyzing market trends and conditions
- Maintaining relations with donors and clients to include timely and accurate acknowledgement of contributions
- Tracking contributions and creating periodic progress reports
- Assisting with the scheduling of meetings with volunteers, sponsors, and donors as needed
- Assisting with the designing and detailing appeal strategies
- Building and maintaining client and donor databases to include mailing lists
- Supporting and improving fundraising efforts to include events and other development activities
- Identifying and engaging with support agencies
- Distributing public relations and prospect materials related to development activities
- Degree in public relations, marketing, or communication science – or relevant experience in a non-profit development environment
- Self-motivated
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good fundraising track record
- Customer-oriented
- Analytical skills

The Development Associate is a Part-Time, Non-Exempt Employee.
