Position
Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) – Full‑time, Monday‑Saturday
Practice OverviewCornelius Veterinary Clinic is a busy, 7‑doctor small animal practice located in Cornelius, Oregon. We serve a variety of pets including small mammals (ferrets, rabbits, etc.) and operate Monday through Saturday. Our clinic has a supportive, energetic environment and a strong focus on high‑quality care.
Location & Hours1280 N Adair Street, Cornelius, OR 97113
Mon‑Fri 7:30 am – 6:00 pm, Sat 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Closed Sunday & major holidays.
Compensation & BenefitsSign‑on bonus $1,500 for qualified full‑time candidates. Salary $30–$33 per hour, dependent on experience, education, licensure, and certifications. Relocation assistance up to $2,500 is available. Additional benefits include $1,000 annual continuing education allowance, license reimbursement, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, pet‑care discounts, career development opportunities, and a supportive team environment.
Who You Are- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in Oregon or eligible to obtain licensure under state requirements
- Degree from an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technology program is preferred but not required
- Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint;
Fear‑Free certification preferred - Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
- Perform basic exam procedures
- Skilled in venipuncture and intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Able to perform digital radiology (X‑ray) positioning
- Perform complete dental procedures including digital X‑rays, scaling, polishing, charting
- Comfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
- Laboratory skills including microscope use (ear and fecal cytology) and automated in‑house machines
- Excellent client communication and education
- Ability to conduct technician appointments independently and maintain accurate medical records
The ideal candidate is compassionate toward patients and clients, confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, monitoring surgical patients, performing recovery, drawing blood, running bloodwork, placing IV catheters, and knowledgeable about X‑ray positioning. They are a positive, motivating team player with a proactive attitude.
