NL Health Services – Western Zone is seeking a salaried Psychiatrist for Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL. This position is one of eight (8) responsible for Psychiatry Services  position requires demonstrated experience working within an interprofessional practice model and in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Experience working with patients with complex needs and treatment resistance is considered an asset.

On‑call is scheduled on an equitable basis with other members of the Discipline.

Western Memorial Regional Hospital is a newly constructed, state‑of‑the‑art acute care facility that opened in June 2024. The hospital serves as a 164‑bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland, delivering a broad range of secondary and select tertiary services to a population of approximately 80,000 residents.

Corner Brook and the Western region offer an exceptional quality of life. Within minutes of Western Memorial Hospital you have access to a golf course, hiking and biking trails, salmon fishing, and kayaking. In winter, world‑class skiing is nearby — and in about an hour's drive you are on the doorstep of the world‑renowned Gros Morne National Park. Corner Brook also offers a thriving arts community and top‑notch sporting and recreational facilities.

• Eligible for licensure as a Psychiatrist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador ( )
• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified or eligible
• Must satisfy credentialing and privilege requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric services in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Participate in on‑call coverage on an equitable basis with other members of the Discipline
• Deliver virtual care services as required
• Work collaboratively with core specialty and support services available on site
• Support person‑and family‑centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

Step assignment determined by the Department of Health and Community Services in accordance with Provincial Guidelines, with yearly progression thereafter.
