As an Instructional Resource Teacher (IRT), you will support a diverse range of learners by developing and delivering individualized programming. Your work will focus on meeting the unique needs of students through enrichment, academic intervention, social-emotional development, and the building of accessibility and adaptive skills.

• Understanding and application of foundations of special education.
• Understanding of developmental characteristics of learners.

• Creation of learning environment encouraging positive social interaction, active engagement, independence and self-motivation.
• Building collaborative partnerships to enhance student learning.
• Continual evaluation of practice and pursuit of professional growth.

• Bachelor of Education.
• Bachelor of Special Education or equivalency.
• NL Teaching Certificate – Level IV or higher.
• Equivalencies will be considered.

Annual teacher salary scale and benefits are contained in the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement.
