Reading Specialist at Eastside Elementary

This school-based position runs from September 8, 2026, to June 25, 2027. You will support teachers in implementing effective reading strategies, fostering engagement, and promoting equity for all students. As a literacy leader, your commitment to continued learning will help to cultivate trustworthy relationships that aim for improvement across K-6 education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teachers to enhance reading instruction

• Mentor educators on effective literacy practices

• Collect and analyze student learning evidence

• Promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment

• Create professional learning opportunities for staff

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education in Primary/Elementary

• NL Teaching Certificate – Level IV or higher

• Minimum 5 years teaching experience in K-6

• Experience with evidence-based reading instruction

• Strong communication and leadership skills
