Reading Specialist

Position: Full-Time Reading Specialist Role
Become a Reading Specialist at Eastside Elementary, focused on improving literacy for students in grades K-6. This full-time position emphasizes collaboration and evidence-based teaching practices.

Running from September 8, 2026, to June 25, 2027, you will work with school personnel to advance student engagement in reading. Responsibilities include mentoring teachers, implementing effective reading strategies, and fostering an inclusive environment for all learners. Your strong leadership and dedication to professional learning will enhance collaborative efforts within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and mentor teachers in reading instruction

• Advocate for student success and engagement

• Analyze evidence of student learning consistently

• Facilitate professional development for educators

• Maintain a nurturing and safe learning environment

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Primary/Elementary Education

• Level IV NL Teaching Certificate

• 5+ years of successful K-6 teaching

• Proficiency in evidence-based reading practices

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
