Environmental Health Officer

Make a difference as an Environmental Health Officer in Corner Brook temporarily or in Stephenville permanently. Engage in public health protection with inspections, consultations, and education.

The Department of Government Services is recruiting for Environmental Health Officers at various locations. You will inspect food establishments, enforce health legislation, and conduct water sampling to safeguard the community. Ongoing mentorship from an experienced officer will aid your development in this impactful role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and enforce environmental health regulations

• Conduct inspections of food establishments and public pools

• Enforce smoke-free environment legislation

• Perform water sampling and manage Boil Water Advisories

• Investigate food and waterborne illnesses

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree accredited by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors

• Certificate in Public Health Inspection, Canada (CPHI(C)) near completion

• Valid class 5 driver's license

• Satisfactory criminal record check

• Willingness for overnight and day travel
