Addictions Counsellor Position

Position: Addictions Counsellor I Flexible Position
Become a key part of the CBCHC team as an Addictions Counsellor I, focusing on client support and recovery solutions for mental health and substance use issues. This role is temporary but impactful within the FACT Team.

In this position, you will assess clients' needs, create customized recovery plans, and provide comprehensive support throughout their treatment journey. Collaboratively working with local services, you'll engage clients and manage their recovery from addiction while conducting independent assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough assessments for clients with addiction issues

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans

• Educate clients on risk management related to substance use

• Work with community agencies to enhance service delivery

• Provide ongoing support and after-hours care when needed

Requirements:

• Preferred Master’s Degree in Social Work

• Required Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Psychology

• Experience in mental health and addiction counseling

• Must hold a valid driver’s license and use a personal vehicle

• Strong interpersonal and crisis intervention skills
