Laboratory Technician

Position: Laboratory Technician at Georgetown University
Contribute to innovative biology education as a Laboratory Technician at Georgetown University. This on-campus role supports lab courses and research while providing vital assistance to students and faculty.

As part of the Department of Human Science, the Laboratory Technician will facilitate the setup and maintenance of laboratory materials for various courses. You will engage directly with students in hands-on learning experiences and assist faculty in research efforts. This position requires a proactive approach to laboratory preparation and student support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare lab materials and equipment for human science courses

• Assist students during laboratory sessions for optimal learning

• Contribute to faculty-led research initiatives

• Maintain laboratory supplies and resources effectively

• Ensure compliance with safety and procedural guidelines

Requirements:

• Minimum B.A. degree with one year of biology and microbiology experience

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Preferred experience in molecular biology techniques

• Ability to manage tissue cultures and identify microbial cultures

• Willingness to adapt to evolving work hours
