Clark Wood are currently working with a well‑established and highly regarded accountancy practice that is looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Senior to join their growing team in North Cornwall.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the Audit & Accounts team, working closely with managers and partners while taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of assignments. The role will involve preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies, assisting with audit assignments, preparing tax computations and returns, and supporting clients with VAT matters and general business queries.
In addition, the role will involve building and maintaining strong client relationships, liaising directly with clients to resolve queries, and supporting the development of junior members of the team. This role offers excellent exposure to both accounts and audit work, making it ideal for someone seeking a broad and varied position within the practice.
The ideal candidate will be ACA, ACCA or AAT part‑qualified, or currently studying toward a professional qualification, and will have gained solid experience within a general practice environment. Strong technical skills, excellent communication ability, and experience using cloud‑based accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books and IRIS would be highly advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities- Preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies
- Assisting with audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
- Preparing partnership and personal tax returns
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
- Liaising directly with clients and resolving queries
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of staff
- Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Assisting with a variety of general practice assignments
- ACA / ACCA / AAT part‑qualified or studying toward a professional qualification
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong accounts preparation and tax compliance experience
- Exposure to audit assignments would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
- Experience using IRIS, Xero, Quick Books and other cloud accounting software
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage workloads and deadlines effectively
