Specialist Grade Breast Clinician; Locum | Royal Hospitals NHS Trust

This is a 12 month fixed term post to work as a member of the Breast Imaging Department at The Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust, rated as Outstanding by the CQC. This post forms part of a sustained development plan in Breast imaging to meet rising demand. The successful candidate will join a cohesive breast imaging team in a dedicated breast unit for symptomatic and screening services based at our Mermaid Centre – an outpatient unit dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease.

The successful candidate will be a GMC registered doctor and will have completed the RCR/NBIA breast clinician training program with credentialling or demonstrate equivalent postgraduate breast imaging qualifications along with relevant breast imaging experience.

• Delivering screening and symptomatic breast imaging services including:
  Interpretation of screening mammograms
• New patient symptomatic clinics (including clinical and imaging assessment)
• Screening assessment clinics
• Intervention (predominantly image-guided intervention such as ultrasound and stereotactic guided core biopsy)
• Undertaking clinical examinations and formulating diagnostic pathway plans
• Participating in MDT meetings
• Optimising patient management
• Communicating with the multidisciplinary team
• Undertaking audit and service improvement projects
• Collaborating in research
