Prep Chef – The Basset Arms The Basset Arms | Portreath

We are looking for a
Prep Chef
to join the kitchen team at The Basset Arms.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for a chef who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, takes pride in their preparation and wants to be part of a quality-focused pub kitchen.

The role will include
preparation for lunch and dinner service, with a small number of breakfast covers to look after in the mornings
.

• Preparing fresh ingredients and daily mise en place
• Preparing and cooking breakfast for a small number of covers
• Supporting the kitchen during lunch and dinner service
• Preparing sauces, stocks, vegetables, desserts and other menu components
• Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and fully prepared for service
• Following food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures
• Supporting the Head Chef and wider kitchen team

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in a professional kitchen
• Confident with preparation and basic cooking
• Reliable, organised and hardworking
• Comfortable working independently when required
• Passionate about good food and high standards
• A positive team player who takes pride in their work
